As an avid reader and a lover of books, I was especially impressed with this book because of its message. This is a children’s book of only 32 pages. It’s a quick, easy read – great for a read aloud – and it promotes reading!
I could relate to the book because I got to actually visit Ivan at the Atlanta zoo. I never realized the back story and now love sharing it with my students. Plus, I am from WA and that is where the story takes place! For all animal lovers — it’s a must!
