How has the ADA impacted your life regarding travel/mobility, education, employment, or any other aspect?

It helps in some regards. It provides me accessibility in voting, and most current movies have audio descriptions.

Can you share a “before and after” experience; e.g., before the ADA I couldn’t do X or was denied access to Y, and thanks to the ADA I can do Z.

Before the ADA, I couldn’t enjoy going to the movies with friends. Thanks to the ADA and audio descriptions, most movies are accessible. Now I enjoy them like I did when I could see.

What advances in disability rights would you like to see in the next 30 years?

The ADA doesn’t go far enough. I am frustrated by the number of home appliances and medical devices that are inaccessible to the blind because of their flat panel designs. This can’t wait 30 years! Society is continuously changing and growing, so the equal access needs to keep up with these changes and grow with the needs.
