Where the Red Fern Grows from Sandy

I am a retired special ed teacher. I read this book to nearly every group of kids I taught over the last 22 years, and I cried every time. I shared a story and honest emotion. Kids really see adult vulnerability and tears. They benefit from experiencing adults reading, especially when it includes honest emotion. It is a wonderful story, and reading it out loud in a classroom wasn’t easy, but it was awesome.
