How has the ADA impacted your life regarding travel/mobility, education, employment, or any other aspect?

The ADA (along with my university’s Disabilities Program) provided vital accommodations during my bachelor’s degree. These included extra time on tests and assignments, enlarged print when needed, plus others.

Can you share a “before and after” experience; e.g., before the ADA I couldn’t do X or was denied access to Y, and thanks to the ADA I can do Z.

Before the ADA, I was skeptical about sharing my disability and needed accommodations with teachers, professors, and admin (and others outside of the school environment). SinceI know my rights through the ADA, I am much more confident in sharing my disability and ‘needs’ with others.

What advances in disability rights would you like to see in the next 30 years?

Transportation. I come from a small town that lacks public transportation. I’d love to see such services expand. If they are available, I feel those in my kind of situation should know more about these services.
