Can you share a “before and after” experience; e.g., before the ADA I couldn’t do X or was denied access to Y, and thanks to the ADA I can do Z.

Before the ADA, my employer offered no assistance and I was left no choice but to leave my job. After, I had constant ongoing computer support which kept me employed for 26 years.

What advances in disability rights would you like to see in the next 30 years?

Although I had great support for 26 years, I eventually had to leave my job because new proprietary company software was not accessible for computer screen readers. The lawn needs to be updated beyond brick and mortar so that proprietary software must be made accessible to everybody. Before leaving, I discussed with a disability attorney and was told that the law currently excludes employers from having to make proprietary computer software accessible.
